Yesterday I spent about 6 hours re-designing my Wordpress blog. After working very hard on it, I finally got it to a piont that I was happy with. I saved my changes and went to bed.
This morning (May 3rd, 2009) I woke up and went to the blog to see that it had changed back to the themes default values. I do not know how this happened all that I know is that when I went to bed everything was right and finished. Now I find myself starting over again designing the website.
On top of this, the picture files I uploaded to my server were also gone. I have no idea how pictures can just disappear off the server without deleting them. They were not even in the same directory as the theme. Very Weird!
It did not take me that long to re-design it again. I had the picture files already saved and so most of the task was going back into the CSS sheet for the template and changing all the setting again.
I did do some research about this problem but did not find very good information about it. Yes I did find people that have had the same problem. No I did not find a solution to this problem. Most of the people that had the same problem had no idea why it happened and there was not too many people that could answer their question.
Some people said that deleting all the unused themes from your server will help this problem. I am not too convinced that this is the answer. Others said that it has to do with the plugins you have on your blog. This answer convinces me more but I am still not satisfied. I think that it is something in the theme that I used that would do this. What exactly? Don’t know.
I am going to continue to look for an answer to this problem and get back to you. I cant have my Wordpress blog changing everyday and i am sure neither can you.
Here is the steps I did take. I re-designed the theme so it is back to the way I had it. I then created a backup copy of the files so if it does happen again, it will only take me about 2 minutes to fix next time.
If you have experienced this with the Wordpress technology, please leave a comment below and let everyone know what happened to you. Maybe together we can solve this problem.
I have been working on this blog for about 3 weeks now. I am going to drive 100% free traffic to the blog and see how much i can get. So far, I think it might be moving in the right direction.
Yesterday i had only 4 pages indexed by google. Now i have 6. It went up by 2 overnight which is a very good sign. The videos at You Tube are starting to get some traffic in. I think more videos is going to really pay off after awhile. I also branded the background of the Channel so it gets more people back to the blog.
At Twitter I have 20 followers. Now i am sending out Tweets whenever something new is added to the blog. I hope that the increase in the number of followers I have will increase the rate i get followers as well.
So far at Analytics I have not seen to good of results. This is due to the lack of links on the Internet. I think as more pages get indexed targeting more specific terms, the more traffic will start getting better. I am also going to start an SEO campaign soon to get more links on the Internet and traffic coming into the blog.
Recently I added a Daily Video Blog Entry. I hope that a daily entry might get people back to the blog on a daily basis. Then they can also check out new videos and information as well.
I also added a video section to the website so people can find all the videos easier. The videos a organized in different ways so that new users can come to the blog and catch up on everything they missed.
We will see where this goes. i think one of the main keys to success in blogging is to keep adding fresh content every single day. This way the search engines think more highly of your blog.
I will continue to update you on how things are going with the blog. I am also compiling all my Wordpress entries into a folder which you can find in the archives.
I will talk to you tomorrow and wish you good luck with your online business.

As I said before, I was going to go through a Wordpress test and see what kind of results I could get. There are a few things I want to determine in this test. One is that can anyone do it with little to no knowledge of marketing on the Internet? And two, what is the longevity of blog traffic compared to paid traffic? If you build your website up via natural ways, how long will that traffic continue to come in with limited to no updates.
So far with my blog, I have added a few features that would make it interactive. I added a chat and live stream, videos and up to date articles. The viewers can also post comments but this is common on all Wordpress blogs by default. I think the videos are going to be a big part of the blog and soon I plan to organize all the videos I am making on the blog itself.
I added a plugin called the “All in 1 SEO Pack” and it makes your posts way more search engine friendly. I also added the plugin “XML Sitemap Generator” which builds a new site map every time you make a post. This should help out quite a bit. Both of these plugins can be found at :
So far I have 9 or 10 articles on my blog. I feel that writing 2 a day is a good start.
I also hooked up Google Analytics to the blog. This allows me to track everything about the traffic I am getting. Is it a new or old person, the top pages they visited, average time people stayed at the website and most important, where they came from? All of these things will give me a good idea of what audience I am capturing and where they are coming from. Then I can modify and change my blog as needed to accommodate the traffic.
Soon like I said I will have a video section on the blog for all the videos I am making. I will organize the videos in different ways to make it easy to find the information and videos you are looking for.
So stay tuned. I will have more updates about the blog and how well the search for natural traffic is going.
I had an idea after I made the last post and video. I was talking about how Wordpress is a massive growing trend for making money online. I also decided before I created this website to see if anyone can get outstanding traffic to their blog.
Now I have a new idea. Instead of just trying it out myself, I am going to track everything I do and once I figure out the formula, I will release it.
How often do people track everything they do to make a website or blog a success? I bet the number is low. What if I were to create a journal and write down everything that I’m doing? Then I could put it all together and show everybody my results.
I am going to compile my thoughts, notes, and what I did to the blog the entire way and see what happens. I should be able to find a good formula that anyone could use to get a good blog going.
So stay tuned. If you want updates, the best way to do this is probably through www.Twitter.com/biztechstop. Then I can send updates and how everything is going along the way.
I will keep you updated but I think this will be a cool little experiment.
I tried to finish the Photoshop tutorials but my video was too long. Now I have to re-do the tutorial and make them shorter. I might go into more depth of the tools and add on a few more tutorials so I think that you will make out better from this anyway.
Do you know much about Search Engine Optimization? If you have a blog or a website and are not using SEO to get free traffic, then you are missing out big time. Search Engine Optimization needs to be a daily part of your routine. Why? Because its free traffic and it lasts a lot longer then if you paid for your traffic.
My Wordpress designed changed overnight. I didnt change anything but it wemt back to the themes default value. Not really sure what happened and cant find any good answers to this problem yet.
I changed up the design of the blog today. It was actually not too bad figuring out how to do it. Most of the work is done for you and you can just tweak a template a little bit to get the right look that you need. I don’t know if I am done with it [...]
