Have You Ever Used Adobe Encore? 0

Posted on May 15, 2009 by admin

Have you ever used Adobe Encore? I just used it for the first time this week and I would have to say that I am very impressed.

I have this software as part of the Adobe Master Collection CS3 and started using it for the first time the other day. What it does is allows you to make DVD’s or Blue Ray Discs.

So you know how when you put a DVD in the player and hit play, it goes to the main menu where you can choose chapters or scenes. That is what Adobe Encore does. You could use this software for many different things.

If you had to make a DVD that you sent to customers or you wanted to make a promotional video, Adobe Encore is what you need.

I had some trouble understanding it at first but I’m sure that most people who do not take classes on software have problems at first. It took me some time to understand Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver for a while. I bet after finding a way to that I can use it and trying it out a little more, I will have no problems.

It allows you to make menus for your DVD or Blue Ray as well as sub menus. You kind of draw it out on a “Flowchart” so you are visually telling the program what menu and link connects with what video, chapter or scene.

Stay tuned because I know that I am going to provide some videos on this one. I am still new to it but give me a month or so and I will provide you with more information about it.

Either way, I give it 5 STARS. It can definitely be a program that you can use with your online business and I have already thought of many DVDs I could create with the software.

Maybe, I will create a DVD about using Adobe Encore! That would be cool!

I tried to Get the Photoshop Tutorials Done 1

Posted on May 05, 2009 by admin

I said today that I was going to finish the tutorials on the tools palette for Photoshop. I did finish them but i do have to re-do the tutorial because the length of the video was too long.

You Tube allows its users to upload files but they cannot be larger then 1 Gb or longer then 10 minutes. I created the tutorial today and it ended up being about 14 minutes long. So when I went back, it said that it had been rejected because it was too long.

I have seen other videos on You  Tube that are longer then 10 minutes. I think that the service allows some people to make longer videos but I’m sure you need some type of special access to do this.

I am going to get the tutorials up I promise. it might take me another day or two now but I will get them done. As soon as i am done with the tools palette, I might go into some tutorials about blending options but I have not decided yet.

Please stay tuned to Business Tech Stop because I will have many tutorials coming over the next few months. If you have watched any of the videos and like them, make sure that you subscribe to the Business Tech Stop You Tube channel or save Business Tech Stop to your browsers favorites list.

Sorry that I did not get it done but it will be done in the next few days.

Talk to you soon!

Search Engine Optimization 0

Posted on May 04, 2009 by admin

A crucial part of getting any blog or website to get a lot of traffic is practice good Search Engine Optimization Techniques. Chances are that if you have a blog or a website, you know more about Search Engine optimization then you think you do.

There are many ways to optimize your web pages so that search engines index them. In order to get the best results, you must utilize all SEO techniques. This may consist of building links to your website, optimizing the pages keywords, and using meta tags to inform the many search engines what your blog or website is about.

When a search engine comes to a website looking for new information, they will usually look at mostly the titles of the page and the content of a page. If the search engine feels that your page fits somewhere in the search engine it will put it there for a certain keyword or keyword phrase.

Lets say I am looking for information about Business Tech Stop and I go over to Google to look for it. I would type into Google Business Tech Stop and it displays my blog  in the search results. This is how free traffic comes to the site. Since the name of my blog is Business Tech Stop, it is the most relevant result that the search engine can provide.

Having links coming into your website or blog is also another way to get the search engines to think more of your website. So lets say that I go out and get a new link to the blog everyday. The better the websites are that I get links from, the better my website is going to do in the search engine.

Google uses a system called page rank. It is a scale from 0 to 10 ( 0 being the lowest) that tells the search engines how important your website or its pages are. If you get links pointing back to your website or blog from higher page ranked websites, then your website will start gaining a page rank.

If you have a page rank of 5 or above, the chances are that Google and other search engines will index your blog or websites pages daily and they will sit higher in the search engine then other websites. The more links you have the better you will do. On top of that, there is a chance that you will get traffic to your site from the links themselves.

Naturally getting links to your website is the best way to do this but it is said that you wont be penalized by Google if you get the links yourself.

Although, Google does know about websites that are built just for this reason and looks down on them. These are usually called link farms. It is where people get together in order to get everyone links from high page ranked websites. This kind of thing will actually hurt your search engine ranking because Google does not consider them good links.

If you do not practice your SEO skills then you will not get better at it. Just like everything. On top of that, doing Search Engine Optimization everyday is something that you should include in your daily work activites.

Personally I am going to start getting 1 link from a page ranked website every day to see if it will increase my results. I have studied this topic extensivly and followed other experts in this field. I used to pay for all my traffic but got tired of paying $15,000 a week. I want the free traffic now so I am going to incorporate search engine optimization everyday as a part of my work day.

I will continue to provide you with more information, resources, and links that you can get when doing your search engine optimization. Make sure you stick with Business Tech Stop to get all the information I am going to provide.

Talk to You Later,
Sam Baker

Wordpress Theme Changed Overnight! 0

Posted on May 03, 2009 by admin

Yesterday I spent about 6 hours re-designing my Wordpress blog. After working very hard on it, I finally got it to a piont that I was happy with. I saved my changes and went to bed.

This morning (May 3rd, 2009) I woke up and went to the blog to see that it had changed back to the themes default values. I do not know how this happened all that I know is that when I went to bed everything was right and finished. Now I find myself starting over again designing the website.

On top of this, the picture files I uploaded to my server were also gone. I have no idea how pictures can just disappear off the server without deleting them. They were not even in the same directory as the theme. Very Weird!

It did not take me that long to re-design it again. I had the picture files already saved and so most of the task was going back into the CSS sheet for the template and changing all the setting again.

I did do some research about this problem but did not find very good information about it. Yes I did find people that have had the same problem. No I did not find a solution to this problem. Most of the people that had the same problem had no idea why it happened and there was not too many people that could answer their question.

Some people said that deleting all the unused themes from your server will help this problem. I am not too convinced that this is the answer. Others said that it has to do with the plugins you have on your blog. This answer convinces me more but I am still not satisfied. I think that it is something in the theme that I used that would do this. What exactly? Don’t know.

I am going to continue to look for an answer to this problem and get back to you. I cant have my Wordpress blog changing everyday and i am sure neither can you.

Here is the steps I did take. I re-designed the theme so it is back to the way I had it. I then created a backup copy of the files so if it does happen again, it will only take me about 2 minutes to fix next time.

If you have experienced this with the Wordpress technology, please leave a comment below and let everyone know what happened to you. Maybe together we can solve this problem.

Sam
